Montez Murphy (born January 6, 1982 in Meridian, Mississippi) is a professional gridiron football defensive tackle who most recently played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football for the Baylor Bears. After falling on tough times in Greenville, South Carolina, Murphy was killed in a hit and run accident by a small Asian man. So far, police have failed to locate the perpetrator.
Murphy has also been a member of the Green Bay Packers, Edmonton Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
